The Now Watch

I believe story is just as important as the product. This project explores going beyond product design by focusing on environmental storytelling. In other areas of design such as video games and architecture, they use the environment as a way to “show, not tell,” giving context through the surroundings rather than direct dialogue. I wanted to utilize this philosophy to elevate product design, experimenting with 3D space to create something more dimensional and immersive for the audience.

3d Development

Created models of various sketches, exploring material breakups and assembly.

Environment Design

Just as the design of the watch prompts the wearer to connect with their surroundings, the still shots and video clips must reflect that philosophy as well.

Butterflies are symbols of natures fleeting beauty, usually captivating our attention as they cross our path. Their presence in the scene serves to draw viewers in, immersing themselves deeper into the environment and ultimately leading them to the focal point—the watch.

Tools Used

3D models, environment, renderings, and video were all created in Blender.
